At 9:57AM on November 3, 2021, an emergency drill was organized in the Headquarters of L&K Engineering (Suzhou) for all employees. With the great attention of corporate leaders, close co-operation of members of the Emergency Rescue Team and active participation of all colleagues, the current year’s emergency drill was successfully completed.

The emergency drills for the current year mainly include the personnel evacuation, emergency rescue, fire fighting drills, air respirator use demonstration, single-person bare-handed backpack-type rescue drill and 100m comprehensive rescue drill competition, etc. There are various drills, which not only enhance employees’ emergency evacuation awareness, but also enhance Suzhou Branch’s emergency response capability, and enrich employees’ safety and

I. Evacuation Drill
A total of 137 people were evacuated in this drill, which took 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Basically, all colleagues were able to evacuate to the designated gathering point quickly and orderly according to the Emergency Plan, which achieved the objectives and requirements of evacuation drills.

II. Emergency Rescue Drill
Assuming that the circuit of the computer room in the office area on the 2/F of R&D Building was short-circuited, a sudden fire broke out, and the rapid spread of the fire had threatened the office building, Chen Wei, the first discoverer, immediately reported the accident to the chief commander. After the members of the Emergency Rescue Team are equipped in place, immediately cut off the power supply, put out the fire with dry powder fire extinguishers, and use fire hose to put out the fire in other areas.

After the head count by each department, it was found that one person in the Design Department failed to reach the emergency gathering point, and the field commander immediately arranged the rescue team to search and rescue, successfully rescued the trapped people from the fire scene, and the medical rescue team gave simple first aid and then sent them to the hospital for treatment.

III. Air Respirator Use Demonstration
The field commander described the operation essentials and use precautions for the air respirator, and conducted field demonstration. Some colleagues also had a personal use experience on the spot, and the field commander gave patient guidance.

IV. Fire Fighting Drill
The field commander introduced the use of dry powder fire extinguishers, and the field employees actively participated in the fire fighting drill. Through practice, the combination of theory and practice is realized, so that every employee may have a good command for the use of fire extinguishers.

V. Practical Competition Activities
1.100m Comprehensive Rescue Drill Competition

There are 4 groups of competitors in this competition. The main contents are to put on fire clothes, carry water guns and hold water hoses. Firstly, throw off the first water hose, hold the other water hose, run to the specified position, then throw off the second water hose, connect the two water hoses, connect the water guns during running, rush to the fire extinguishing area, put out the open fire with a fire extinguisher, and then run back to the starting point. Complete all actions and take the shortest time to win. After fierce competition, the colleagues from the Intelligent Information Department won the first place with 40.19 seconds and the colleagues from the Design and Air Conditioning Department won the second place with 40.37 seconds.

2. Single-person Bare-handed Backpack-type Rescue Drill
Regarding the issue of how to quickly save people from the fire, the field commander introduced the operation essentials of the single-person bare-handed backpack-type rescue drill, and demonstrated how to quickly carry and evacuate people from the fire scene.

This round of competition requires competitors to standardize the action essentials of the single-person bare-handed backpack-type rescue drill, carry people to the finish line, put them down safely, then run back to the starting point, and take the shortest time to win. After this round of competition, the colleagues from the After-sales Service Department won the first place with 14.07 seconds, and the colleagues from the Intelligent Information Department won the second place with 14.46 seconds.

After the two rounds of competition, assistant Manager Xu from the General Manager’s Office presented corresponding prizes to the top two winners and other participants for each round of competition.

VI. Summary of the Drill
After all the drills, the General Manager Mao Zhihui summarized the emergency drills for the current year, and emphasized the importance of emergency drills. All employees shall be familiar, whenever and wherever, with the fire extinguisher position, safety exit, etc., so that they can calmly deal with emergencies. The safety of people’s lives and property shall be effectively guaranteed. It is expected that via the annual emergency drills, the emergency awareness of all employees and the linkage ability of emergency teams will be improved, and the emergency management ability will be comprehensively improved.
